Hello everyone!

After a few years of online presence, I’ve decided to intensify this presence with a personal space where I can post my thoughts, share articles, knowledge, and everything else, really!

… and here we are!

For those who don’t know me, I’m Gianluca, Gianlu for the friends, and I’m an Android Software Engineer. I’ve been in this industry since 2011.

At that time, Android 2.1, Eclipse, and Java were the bosses, and some impavid developers were still using Ant 🐜.

During that period, we would sometimes encounter spaghetti monsters like AsyncTask, AbsoluteLayout, and the first Android tablets were emerging from the wild. To build tablet layouts, it was necessary to check the screen resolution. Then the Galaxy Nexus literally changed everything!

At that time, Windows Mobile was still a thing, and in the companies, we had Android, iOS, and Windows devs 😱.

During that era, Symbian was not dead yet, and when you were selling an app, someone was asking for it!

Back then, 4GB of RAM was enough to run Eclipse, and the errors with that couldn’t be more far from the exotic, esoteric, and mysterious.

Now, we have Android Studio, we have Kotlin, and we have a lot of online material, articles, and other resources.

Starting as an Android Software Engineer today may seem easier, but I couldn’t be happier to say that I’ve seen it grow, improve, and become more awesome day by day!

Now let’s start with this new chapter. I’ll try to share experiences, technologies, best practices, open-source stuff mainly from this space. I hope that anyone reading my content could learn something and also give me some feedback!
